The town of Whitby has been established for more than 1,400 years and is found on the north east coast of England. Because of its age, there are plenty of Whitby attractions, which provide you with details of this town and the surrounding areas history.

One of the most popular attractions in this town is Whitby Abbey that is located on a cliff top that provides it with views looking down over the town and its harbour. The abbey itself dates back to the 7th Century when the town was first established and was founded by a Northumbrian Princess called Hilda.
